Boys & Girls Club of West Chester/Liberty Expands Services, Announces New Mason/Deerfield Location
Strategic Growth Plan Positions Organization to Serve 30% More Youth Across Butler and Warren Counties
WEST CHESTER, OHIO – [June 30, 2026] – The Boys & Girls Club of West Chester/Liberty announced today a significant expansion of youth services for the 2026-2027 academic year. Beginning this Fall, Club membership opportunities at their West Chester location will be available to all students in grades K-12. The enhanced capacity comes in response to unprecedented growth in demand for Club services and the growth of young families in the district.
Over the past four years, Club membership has increased by an extraordinary 275%, reflecting both the effectiveness of the Club's youth development programs and the growing need for affordable, high-quality after-school opportunities for local families. The expansion represents a major milestone in the organization's strategic plan to increase its impact and serve an additional 30% more youth throughout the region over the next three years.
"Over the last several years, we've witnessed tremendous growth in the number of families seeking safe, supportive, and enriching environments for their children after school," said Damon Knoche, CEO of Boys & Girls Club of West Chester/Liberty. "Expanding access to all K-12 students allows us to meet that demand in West Chester and Liberty Township while ensuring more young people have the opportunity to access quality programming."
Club Expansion
In addition to expanding programming at its West Chester/Liberty facility, the organization will launch the Boys & Girls Club of Mason/Deerfield in August 2026 through a collaborative partnership with Resurrection Church Mason. The Mason/Deerfield location will help address a growing need for middle school and high school programming while also providing additional after-school care options for elementary and intermediate school families. The new site extends the organization's reach into the neighboring Mason and Deerfield Township communities, where the Club will target students in grades 3-9 through after-school programming designed to meet the unique developmental needs of youth and teens.
"The launch of the Mason/Deerfield Club represents an exciting next chapter for our organization," said Knoche. "Through our partnership with Resurrection Church Mason, we are expanding access to life-changing opportunities for young people while responding to the needs of families throughout the region."
At both locations, Club programming will continue to focus on four priority outcome areas that prepare youth for lifelong success:
- Academic Success
- Healthy Lifestyles
- Character Education & Leadership
- Life & Workforce Readiness
Through evidence-based programs, caring adult mentors, and a safe, positive environment, the Boys & Girls Club helps young people develop the skills, confidence, and resilience necessary to succeed in school, explore future career pathways, and develop critical life skills.
The expansion aligns with the organization's long-term vision to increase access to quality youth development services while strengthening support systems for children, teens, and families throughout the communities it serves.
Membership enrollment for the 2026-2027 academic year is now open for both Boys & Girls Club of West Chester/Liberty and Boys & Girls Club of Mason/Deerfield. Club memberships at both locations are $200 for the entire year, giving youth the chance to access Club programs for merely $1 per day. Scholarship opportunities are also available to students who qualify for Free/Reduced Lunch programs in their local district. For more information regarding the registration process, please contact Quentin Miller, Director of Member Services, at qmiller@bgcwcl.org to reserve your spot for the upcoming school year.

Boys & Girls Club of West Chester/Liberty Announces Collaborative Partnership with Cincinnati Children’s HealthWORKS! and Butler Tech Bioscience Program to Combat Childhood Obesity
West Chester, OH – The Boys & Girls Club of West Chester/Liberty is proud to announce a dynamic new partnership with Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center and its HealthWORKS! program, alongside a third collaborative partnership with Butler Tech’s Bioscience program. Together, these organizations are working to reverse the growing trend of childhood obesity while developing the next generation of health professionals.
Through this innovative collaboration, the Boys & Girls Club of West Chester/Liberty will replicate CCHMC’s HealthWORKS! program, a nationally recognized, evidence-based exercise and nutritional education programming. Called “Club Fit,” the program will run twice per week for all elementary to high school Club members. The program is designed to increase physical activity, build healthy habits, and empower youth with the tools they need to live healthier lives.
The physical education component relies on active play games, sports, cardiovascular exercises, and body-weight strength and plyometric interval training. Nutritional education will be driving by Registered Dietitians from Cincinnati Children’s, who will conduct quarterly nutritional education sessions utilizing the Cincinnati Children’s HealthWORKS! Healthy Eating Plan curriculum. These interactive sessions – open to youth and their families - will be held at the Club and feature hands-on cooking demonstrations focused on preparing healthy snacks and nutritious lunches—providing practical, real-world skills that youth and families can implement immediately.
Further strengthening the initiative, students enrolled in Butler Tech’s Bioscience program - many of whom are preparing for careers in exercise science, healthcare, sports medicine, nursing, and related fields - will gain valuable training through CCHMC and hands-on experience by assisting Boys & Girls Club staff in delivering Club Fit programming. Under guided supervision, these students will support exercise sessions, help model healthy behaviors, and engage directly with youth participants.
This initiative also works to alleviate challenges for area youth that qualify to get scheduled into HealthWORKS! programming at CCHMC’s Main Campus, many of whom currently have a three-month wait to get to their first class session. The Club will introduce a new HealthWORKS! Program Membership available to youth ages 6–18 for just $10 per month. This affordable membership option is open to community youth who may not currently be Club members but are seeking structured support to become more active and make healthier eating choices. Registration for Program Memberships may be completed online at www.bgcwcl.org beginning Monday, March 2, 2026.
“HealthWorks! promotes healthier eating habits and increased physical activity using a family-centered approach,” said Dr. Robert Siegel, Associate Director of the Center for Better Health and Nutrition and Professor for the University of Cincinnati’s Department of Pediatrics. “This program is designed to meet the needs of patients and their families by helping them set realistic, achievable goals to help them live a healthier lifestyle.”
“This partnership represents a powerful, community-wide approach to improving youth health,” said Damon Knoche, CEO of the Boys & Girls Club of West Chester/Liberty. “By combining the medical expertise of Cincinnati Children’s, the educational excellence of Butler Tech, and the trusted youth development environment of our Club, we are not only helping kids build lifelong healthy habits - we are also preparing future healthcare leaders while working to enhance the quality of life for our kids and families for years to come.”
The collaboration creates a sustainable model that supports children, families, and aspiring healthcare professionals alike—making healthy living accessible, affordable, and engaging throughout West Chester and Liberty Township.
